Don't let your licence expire

Operating with an expired licence is the same as operating without a licence. Apply for renewal at least 2-3 months before expiry to avoid any gap. Set a calendar reminder for 6 months before your licence end date.

Renewal checklist

  • Note your licence expiry date and set reminders 6 months and 3 months before
  • Contact your council for their renewal process and current fee
  • Gather updated documents: gas safety, EICR (if due), floor plans
  • Complete the renewal application form
  • Submit and pay before the expiry date
  • Respond promptly to any council requests or inspections
  • Display your new licence once received
